Since the beginning of her career in 2010, Vanessa Thieffry has developed an expertise in international arbitration, with a focus on construction arbitration.
Her journey started as secretary to arbitral tribunals, progressing through a leading French construction law firm, and subsequently with a prominent US headquartered international law firm. This path allowed her to cultivate deep knowledge across different cultures, procedures, notably in construction, energy and infrastructure disputes.
She is now establishing herself as an independent arbitrator through Thieffry Dispute Resolution. While focused on developing this independent arbitrator role, she continues to advise clients independently or as co-counsel, in construction arbitrations, adjudications, and claims and dispute management.

Vanessa Thieffry accepts appointments as sole arbitrator, chair, or party-appointed arbitrator in domestic and international arbitration proceedings. She has acted in a wide array of cases, mainly in infrastructure, energy, and construction disputes. Her practice is founded on impartiality, independence, and availability – combined with the technical fluency that construction arbitration demands. She exercises active case management from initial appointment throughout the procedure, structuring proceedings to maintain efficiency and proportionality between the stakes and the resources devoted to resolution. She works under institutional rules and in ad hoc proceedings.
Counsel
Thieffry Dispute Resolution offers targeted counsel services for clients who need focused expertise. The practice aims at the highest degree of flexibility: one-off strategic advice, reinforcement during resource constraints, or construction expertise input.
